The default installation for IISPassword is to install for all websites. This may not be the optimal solution for your situation.
To remove:
Right click Websites inside IIS Management Console, and go to the Isapi Filters tab, double click IISPassword Filter, and copy the executable path. (if adding in fresh, the Path is in:
C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\IISPasswordFilter.dll (32 bit IIS on 32 bit Windows) or C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\IISPasswordFilter64.dll (64 bit IIS on 64 bit Windows) or C:\Windows\syswow6432\inetsrv\IISPasswordFilter.dll (32 bit IIS on 64 bit Windows)
Click ok, then make sure the IISPassword Filter is selected, and click Remove, confirming if necessary.
Ok out of these boxes, then expand out the websites list, and find the site you want to protect. Right click the site, and go to properties. On the Isapi filters tab, select add new, name it IISPassword Filter, and paste in the path you copied.
Press OK, and you should be ok for working in IISPassword again, but just on the restricted sites.
