Q: I've just installed V5, and I can't log in to the Administrator! I didn't have to do this in V4.

A: The initial log in to the Admin, after the installation, but before the V4 settings import is:

Server name: (local)
User name: Admin
Password:

(That is a blank password).

Once you have imported the settings from V4, it will be your V4 admin login. If you can't remember this, go to c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\parker software\whosonv4\settings.ini (on XP / 2000 / 2003) or c:\program data\parker software\whosonv4\settings.ini (on Vista / 2008), and look for the values webusername and webpassword.

It is also possible that you have changed the data file location - if the password in the settings.ini file doesn't work, you can check the current location first from opening regedit (start => run => regedit)
then navigating to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Parkersoft/WhosOn/5/Settings (or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/WOW6432Node/Parkersoft/WhosOn/5/Settings on x64).

The string value DDFPath contains the path to the v5 settings location.   If you go to here, and read settings.ini it will have the current settings information in it.

The default v5 location is C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application Data\Parker Software\WhosOnV5\ on XP / 2003 and C:\ProgramData\Parker Software\WhosOnV5\ on Vista / 7 / 2008.
